Last weekend, I saw the latest Disney live-action remake of ‘Pinocchio’, directed by Robert Zemeckis of ‘Back to the Future’ fame and based on the 1940 animated film of the same name. The film stars Tom Hanks, well-known for voicing Woody in ‘Toy Story’ and for being in 2004’s ‘The Polar Express’. Continue reading

As a kid, I saw the 1955 film ‘The Ladykillers’ with Sir Alec Guinness. I enjoyed that film when I saw it on VHS in the 1990s and it’s nice to revisit it now and again, whether it’d be on TV or on DVD. It’s a black comedy drama film that’s been cherished by many and it’s worthy of being a quaint English film. Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood’

I’ve seen the movie ‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood’, starring Tom Hanks, which I rented on my home computer via Google Play. I didn’t know what to expect with this movie, but I greatly enjoyed watching it with my parents. It was a very straight-forward drama film filled with uplifting messages. Continue reading
