‘THE SPIDER AND THE FLY’
Please feel free to comment on my review.

In this ‘Spider-Man’ story, Spider-Man comes up face-to-face with…the black-suited Spider-Man? Oh actually that’s a new super-villain called the Fly. Or should it be super-villains called the Flies. Yeah this story is so misleading in its title, especially when there are two villains in this tale instead of one.
The two Flies are actually twins – Stan Patterson and Lee Patterson. And to be honest, these guys are actually competent villains. No really, I do find the Flies to be good in deceiving Spider-Man. One Fly lures Spider-Man away whilst another Fly steals somebody’s jewellery without Spider-Man noticing.
As always, J. Jonah Jameson accuses Spider-Man for being the Fly without covering all the evidence. I do think Jameson isn’t a competent newspaper man in this series and doesn’t compile all the evidence for and against. But then that’s the way he is. He does fret about possibly two Spider-Men!
Whilst I do like the Fly twins as villains, I do think Spider-Man managed to defeat them too easily at their secret headquarters at a funfair. Is it the same funfair that Electro has his base though? I do wish some of these Season 1 ‘Spider-Man’ stories are full-on episodes rather than half of an episode.
‘The Spider and the Fly’ rating – 7/10
