Here are some of the characters who feature in the ‘Beast Wars’ TV series.

THE MAXIMALS

OPTIMUS PRIMAL

Optimus is the leader of the Maximals. He can transform from a gorilla into a robot and vice versa. Optimus Primal is a noble and sometimes reluctant leader who leads his Maximals in order to stop Megatron and his hungry quest for power. Optimus also has the ability to fly airborne in robot mode.

CHEETOR

Cheetor is the youngest Maximal who can transform from a cheetah into a robot and vice versa. Cheetor is my favourite Maximal character in the series, as he’s feisty; fast and sometimes foolish just like I was. But Cheetor is a loyal Maximal who Optimus is very fond of. Cheetor calls Optimus ‘big bot’.

RHINOX

Rhinox is the clever mechanic and engineer of the Maximals. He can transform from a rhino into a robot and vice versa. Rhinox may be slow and lumbering as a Maximal, but he’s one of the fiercely loyal and dependable of the Maximal team. Optimus puts his trust in Rhinox as a second-in-command.

DINOBOT

Dinobot is a former Predacon who joins the Maximals. He can transform from a raptor dinosaur into a robot and vice versa. Dinobot is a warrior and he values duty and honour. He tolerates his Maximal comrades, including Rattrap. He can be pretty mean at times, but does have a good ‘spark’ inside him.

RATTRAP

Rattrap can transform from a rat into a robot and vice versa. Rattrap is another one of my favourites. He can be pretty cynical and arrogant at times. But he’s definitely someone that you would want to have on your side. Rattrap can be really funny and he is a demolition expert and a spy for the Maximals.

THE PREADCONS

MEGATRON

Megatron is the leader of the evil Predacons. He can transform from a T-Rex into a robot and vice versa. Megatron is a ruthless tyrant. He led his Predacons to prehistoric Earth in search for Energon. But Megatron may have a hidden agenda since he’s stolen the Golden Disk from the planet Cybertron.

TERRORSAUR

Terrorsaur is one of the Predacon fliers. He can transform from a red pterodactyl into a robot and vice versa. Terrorsaur is a deadly enemy to reckon with and he can be pretty ambitious in wanting to lead the Predacons. But Megatron puts Terrorsaur in his place whenever he chances to rebels against him.

WASPINATOR

Waspinator is the second Predacon flyer. He can transform from a giant wasp into a robot and vice versa. I love Waspinator as he’s so funny as a character. Waspinator speaks in the third person and can be silly and stupid, especially when he gets blown up a lot of the time in a battle. Poor Waspinator!

TARANTULAS

Tarantulas is the slimy Predacon scientist who can transform from a huge tarantula into a robot and vice versa. Tarantulas is a mysterious character. He seems to be a part of Megatron’s team but has an agenda of his own. Tarantulas can create deadly webs that can drain energy and power off a Maximal.

SCORPONOK

Scorponok is Megatron’s second-in-command of the Predacons. He can transform from a deadly scorpion into a robot and vice versa. Scorponok is a fearsome bully and thug, who is fiercely loyal to Megatron. He can be smart at times and fire missiles and deadly cyber bees from his scorpion pincers.
