Recently, my parents and I saw the two Laurel & Hardy films ‘Sons of the Desert’ and ‘Dirty Work’ on the big screen. This was a limited re-release of the two films that happened at Showcase Cinemas in Nantgarw on Sunday the 15th and Tuesday the 17th of October 2023. I’ve seen the movie ‘Stan & Ollie’ at the cinema and thoroughly enjoyed it. I found it a heartfelt biographical account of my favourite comedy duo, Laurel & Hardy. The film remained true to the spirit of the comedic atmosphere the duo had whilst also depicting what they seemed to be like in real-life. Continue reading

Just want to share a few brief thoughts of what I made of a ‘Laurel & Hardy’ film I’ve never seen before. I saw this last Saturday during the Easter weekend. This is ‘Bonnie Scotland’, a film featuring Stan and Ollie visiting Scotland where they hope to inherit a fortune and get drafted into the army. Continue reading
