Hmm. So, this is happening next year! 🙂

It’s been a while since I saw and did a quick review on ‘Toy Story 4’ back in 2019. I think that film has grown on me over the years and I enjoyed it when it was shown on Christmas Day in December 2023. I hope I’ll get to do an in-depth review on the film soon.

I wasn’t expecting ‘Toy Story 5’ to happen so soon. I know it’d been talked about, but I wasn’t sure if it was a film that was happening. Well, we’ve had confirmation via the teaser trailer that it will have its release in 2026. And before ‘Shrek 5’ in 2027, apparently.

From watching the teaser trailer, it seems that the toys are going to have a new threat to their existence when Bonnie has her new plaything in the form of a frog-like tablet named Lilypad. I believe the theme of this film is about technology taking over traditional toys. 😐

I’m curious as to how Woody is back with Buzz Lightyear and everyone else in Bonnie’s room. Didn’t he leave to be with Bo Peep at the end of ‘Toy Story 4’? Is Bo Peep in ‘Toy Story 5’? I’m sure these questions will be answered by the time ‘Toy Story 5’ is out in 2026.

It’s nice to see other characters like Rex and Slinky Dog, Forky and…whoever that other fork character from the end of ‘Toy Story 4’ is, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Jessie and Bullseye, and the three Pizza Planet aliens. Hopefully, they’ll have stuff to do in the movie.

It seems that the ‘Toy Story’ films haven’t really finished yet. I know I have some ‘Toy Story’-related content to catch up on via Disney+, including the ‘Toy Story Toons’ and the ‘Forky Asks a Question’ series. Hopefully, I’ll catch up on those sometime soon in the future.

At present, I’m looking forward to when ‘Toy Story 5’ comes out at cinemas in 2026. It should be interesting and hopefully entertaining to watch. Whether it’ll be an improvement over ‘Toy Story 4’ is another matter, but I’m looking forward to finding out. 🙂
