Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
I know it’s early to talk about Christmas as we’re in September, not December, but frankly, I celebrate Christmas in more than just one month. This is emphasised in some of the Christmas Specials I review as well as preparing for Christmas before December happens.
Christmas is a very special time for me, as I get to enjoy the festivities as well as celebrate the message of Christmas in a variety of ways, including telling the first Christmas story of the Nativity. I’ve had many opportunities celebrating Christmas for 10 years on my blog.
The main celebration that I’ve done for Christmas every December is doing my ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar. I’m amazed I’ve been able to do a variety of Advent Calendars on my blog that contain many various themes in the build-up to Christmas itself.
This includes sharing my favourite things in 2015, my favourite videos in 2016, ‘The Five Doctors at Christmas’ in 2017, my 2008 Christmas memories in 2018, my photos with ‘Doctor Who’ stars in 2019, Santa Cuddles’ Advent Calendar in 2020, and my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ videos in 2022.
I’ve even shared my ‘Lord of the Rings’ Comedy Version Advent Calendar in 2021. I shared my ‘Doctor Who’ photo story ‘And There Were Seven’ in 2023, and I shared Christmas recommendations in 2024. The Advent Calendars have been very successful!
My Christmas greetings on Christmas Day have evolved over the years, with me mostly sharing photos of me containing Christmas backdrops. In 2020, when we were in lockdown, I shared a photo of me, Cuddles, Puddles and Snowy against a Christmas tree.
2023 and 2024 were successful in terms of Christmas greetings. In 2023, I shared a photo of me, Sarah Sutton and Cuddles celebrating Christmas in Scarborough along with a video. In 2024, I shared a photo of me and Millie Gibson celebrating Christmas in London.
I’ve also shared videos in my Christmas greetings over the years. This includes sharing Christmas episodes of ‘Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends’, the 1979 ‘Rainbow’ Christmas Special on the Nativity, and the ‘Mr. Men’ story ‘Mr. Snow’, read by Arthur Lowe.
I’ve even shared the ‘Izzy Wizzy Christmas Special’ music video from ‘The Sooty Show’ YouTube channel last year. I’m looking forward to how I celebrate Christmas on Christmas Day via my blog this year, as I’m sure there’ll be something exciting to share. 🙂
Throughout the 10 years I’ve done my blog, I’ve shared a variety of reviews on Christmas Specials from ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Dad’s Army’, ‘All Creatures Great and Small’, etc. These have been in certain months of the past 10 years rather than specifically on Decembers.
I’ve also had opportunities to share ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas Specials of my own, including ones featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy, including ‘The Ghost of Leckwick’, ‘The Pantomine of Death’, ‘Cuddles’ and ‘Return to Christmas’. They’ve been great fun to write.
I’ve reviewed plenty of Christmas movies on my blog, including the ‘Home Alone’ movies, ‘Elf’, ‘The Santa Clause’ film trilogy, ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’, ‘Holiday Inn’, etc. Many of the Christmas film reviews are based on DVD and Blu-ray releases. Some from viewing them on Disney+.
I’m glad I’ve been able to celebrate the Nativity on my blog by reviewing ‘The Nativity Story’ and ‘It’s a Boy’ on my blog. I’m also pleased I shared my experience of Christmas at Bute Park 2024 in Cardiff on a Thursday evening, especially with seeing the light show.
I’m amazed by how much I’ve shared about Christmas in a variety of ways on my blog, including my advent calendars, my ‘Doctor Who’ stories, my film reviews, my Christmas Special reviews and so much more. I’m looking forward to what else comes at Christmas time. 🙂
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
Tim 🙂

I just got an advance-Christmas present in the form of my new laptop because of the back-to-school sales this month that made it the least expensive. I’m really enjoying it. Normally I’m bigger on giving presents rather than receiving them anyway. So Christmas this year will be no different.
As for Doctor Who or sci-fi related Christmas presents, my nephew is the one I’ve gotten those for most of the time. He now has quite a collection thanks to me. As the old saying goes: It’s the thought that counts. So the best in our sci-fi especially continues to be motivating for me in regards to gifts.
Thank you, Tim, for sharing your reflections.

Hi scifimike,
Glad you got yourself a new laptop. I’m sure I’ll be buying my own Christmas presents pretty soon as well as some presents for my family and friends. The Christmas season will be upon us before we know it. 😀 I’m currently doing my BB@10 anniversary celebrations for the 30th of September, but I hope to get on with ‘The Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season and Christmas items for my blog, including my Advent Calendar soon.
Many thanks and Best wishes,
Tim 🙂
