Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It’s Day 11 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2024.
Here’s the eleventh Christmas recommendation by me on ‘Bradley’s Basement’.

It would be easy to claim that ‘The Christmas Invasion’, starring David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor, was the first ‘Doctor Who’ episode to be shown on Christmas Day. Wrong! The first ‘Doctor Who’ episode to be shown on Christmas Day was ‘The Feast of Seven’. 🙂
That’s the seventh episode in the 12-part epic story ‘The Daleks’ Master Plan’, starring William Hartnell as the First Doctor and Peter Purves as Steven Taylor. Also joining them is Jean Marsh as Sara Kingdom, who ends up being a one-off companion in the 12-part story.
‘The Feast of Steven’ episode was shown on Christmas Day in December 1965. It doesn’t have the Daleks in it and could be considered a one-off episode away from the main ‘Daleks’ Master Plan’ story. Sadly, ‘The Feast of Steven’ is missing from the BBC Archives.
The only way to check out ‘The Feast of Steven’ is via the BBC TV audio soundtrack on CD and via Audible, which contains the entire 12-part story in full on audio. If you want to complete your ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas experience, you should check out that episode. 🙂
Or at least check out ‘The Daleks’ Master Plan’ in full on audio as well as the three missing episodes that have survived on the ‘Lost in Time’ 3-disc DVD set. And you should check out ‘The Feast of Steven’ to hear William Hartnell wishing everybody a “Merry Christmas”.
Thanks for reading!
Check out what Day 11 of my ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendars for 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 were about!
Bye for now!
Tim 🙂
