Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve created a new Musicals page on ‘Bradley’s Basement’! I’ve also done a review on the 1938 film ‘Alexander’s Ragtime Band’. The film is based on the musical number by Irving Berlin, who provides the songs, the score and the story here. I enjoyed watching ‘Alexander’s Ragtime Band’ during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 – please keep safe.

‘Alexander’s Ragtime Band’ stars Tyrone Power, Alice Faye, Don Ameche and Ethel Merman. On the DVD, it’s regarded as a ‘studio classic’ by 20th Century Fox as it was called then and it won an Academy Award in 1938 for Best Music (Scoring). Do I think that this classic musical film stands the test of time?
