‘SPECIALISTS AND SLAVES’
Please feel free to comment on my review.

Whether you’re ill or not, you’re bound to get tired of this series and almost fall asleep. This story reuses most of the footage from two previous episodes, including ‘Swing City’ and ‘To Cage a Spider’. At this point, should I really by that surprised? It’s amazing how lazily this episode was put together.
In the story, Spidey’s old enemy from ‘Swing City’ – the Radiation Specialist – is back! Except he wasn’t called the Radiation Specialist in that episode! He was called the Master Technician! How come the makers of this series forget the name of their villains? This was very painful to sit through.
In this story, following his release from jail, our main villain promptly revisits Manhattan’s nuclear reactor. I’m not mentioning the fact that he’s still green-skinned in this episode because, like I said, this series is getting ridiculous. Our villain contrives a way to lure Spider-Man out of New York City. 😐
He does this by using a remote-controlled car. I’m surprised Spidey didn’t see that nobody was in the car when he was pursuing it out of New York. Once Spidey’s out of New York, the Specialist lifts Manhattan into the sky. I must’ve drifted from watching this episode by then as I was losing interest.
The villain also corrupts the police and uses them as his slaves. By the way, the Radiation Specialist footage is also reused from the episode ‘Up From Nowhere’. I could check the episode to be sure of that, but I’ve lost the urge to be interested in this series since it’s so lazily handled in its animation. 😐
It turns out Captain Stacy has resisted the Specialist’s hold on him due to his strong will. Incidentally, Captain Stacy switches from being a man with black hair to an older man with white hair. I was confused by that and it’s incredibly shocking how shoddy the episode’s animation is to muck that up.
We go through the reused ‘To Cage a Spider’ story where Spidey gets captured after falling into the streets of New York due to an earthquake. Stacy implements a plan to help Spidey escape whilst having to contend with criminals who’ve taken Stacy hostage. Spidey does save Stacy in the episode.
The episode concludes with Spidey heading for the reactor to confront the Radiation Specialist again and defeat him. The final shot of this episode is Spidey swinging through New York City. ‘Specialists and Slaves’ is also a terrible title for this ‘Spider-Man’ episode. Not impressive as the 1990s episode titles.
‘Specialists and Slaves’ rating – 1/10
