‘FIFTH AVENUE PHANTOM’

Please feel free to comment on my review.

This ‘Spider-Man’ story features a brand-new villain called the Phantom…or rather the Fifth Avenue Phantom as the story calls him. He’s not a villain who appears in the ‘Spider-Man’ comics and like previous ‘Spider-Man’ villains in the TV series, there’s no secret identity about him at all. It’s a pity. 😦

I do think Fifth Avenue Phantom could be a potentially good ‘Spider-Man’ villain since he uses a device that can shrink valuables as well as android women who can masquerade as fashion mannequins. It’s a pity that the ‘Spider-Man’ comics didn’t include villains from the 1960s TV series.

In this particular tale, Spider-Man attempts to halt the Phantom’s activities in New York. But Spider-Man gets set up by the Phantom along with his robot hench-android woman Marie. Spidey soon discovers that the Phantom has been shrinking items to steal them and disguise them as these toys.

Thankfully, Spider-Man manages to defeat the Phantom once he’s been taken to the Phantom’s base. I’ve noticed that the actors voicing the characters aren’t credited in the episodes’ end credits. I have realised however that Stan Lee does get credited in the end credits as ‘Snazzy Stan Lee’, I think.

‘Fifth Avenue Phantom’ rating – 7/10
