I didn’t see this ‘Beast Wars’ episode on TV when I was a kid in the 1990s. I don’t recall it being shown on GMTV, unless it was shown on GMTV2. It probably was. 😀 I saw the episode in the ‘Beast Wars’ 15th anniversary DVD box set for Christmas in December 2011. Nice!

I enjoyed the episode when I saw it on DVD in 2011. Although, upon revisiting it, it’s clearly a very cartoony episode, especially with its plot involving Rhinox, who gets infected by a virus created by Tarantulas. This might be considered as the weakest episode of the series.

Rattrap and Dinobot must put aside their differences to save Rhinox’s life. Mind you, Rhinox being infected wouldn’t have happened if Rattrap didn’t use one of Optimus Primal’s swords as a golf club to hit Dinobot in the butt when they were gardening outside.

Understandably, Dinobot lashed out at Rattrap for it. It was fascinating to see how Dinobot and Rattrap teamed up together in this. They clearly don’t get on well. You’d think that they would grow to trust each other in the time that they’ve spent being team players.

Apparently, this is Scott McNeil’s (the voice actor of Dinobot and Rattrap) favourite episode from the ‘Beast Wars’ TV series. How intriguing. 🙂 I suppose he does get enjoyment out of Dinobot and Rattrap bickering with each other in the TV series, as it occurs a lot. 😀

The virus that Rhinox is contaminated with happens to be an Energon-depleting virus. It causes Rhinox to sneeze a lot and discharge Energon, blowing up holes in the Maximals’ base. 😐 At one point, Rhinox hits Terrorsaur in the pterodactyl butt when sneezing violently.

Gradually, Dinobot and Rattrap venture into Tarantulas’ lab to find the counter-virus to rid Rhinox of his sneezing. They’re soon joined by Optimus, Cheetor, Tigatron, Airazor and a sneezy Rhinox when they confront Tarantulas, Megatron and the rest of the Predacons. 🙂

Just when Megatron has the upper hand, Rhinox in his beast mode gives the Predacons something from his…behind…which was quite amusing to see. The Maximals gives Rhinox the counter-virus, and thankfully, his sneezes aren’t so lethal compared to before.
