‘HAS ANYONE SEEN MY COBRA?’

This is a very funny ‘It Ain’t Half Hot Mum’ episode involving a snake-charmer’s cobra. The Sgt-Major is urged to keep playing a snake-charmer’s flute and move it about to stop a cobra attacking him when it ends up under his bed. It’s amazing and amusing the Sgt-Major was able to keep on playing.

The episode begins with the Sgt-Major getting his smart new uniform in the market area. I found it funny when the Sgt-Major kept telling people to ‘shut up’. Even when a donkey brayed, he told it to ‘shut up’. The Indian locals are very amused and awed by the Sgt-Major is undressing for his fitting. 🙂

Renu Setna guest stars as the tailor in the episode. Previously, Renu Stena was in the ‘It Ain’t Half Hot Mum’ episodes ‘It’s a Wise Child’ and ‘The Natives Are Revolting’. And I’ve discovered that he briefly appeared in ‘Part One’ of the ‘Doctor Who’ story called ‘The Hand of Fear’ with Tom Baker. 🙂

It was funny when the Sgt-Major helped Captain Ashwood out with trying a new Indian outfit as a present for his wife, Rangi Ram soon came in. Rangi Ram went “Oh blimey!” and the Sgt-Major shouted at him to get out. It was very amusing to see that since Rangi Ram’s reaction is so priceless.

Meanwhile, Solly is auditioning for snake-charmers. The auditionees include Azad Ali, Ahmed Khalil, Sultan Lalani and Ashwin Patel, I believe. One of the auditionees loses his cobra snake and it ends up under the Sgt-Major’s bed before he unintentionally plays the snake-charmer’s flute to wake it up. 😐

It was funny when Rumzan, the Punka Wallah, entered to help take over from the Sgt-Major, but he attracts another snake in the process. I wonder where that came from. Did the snake-charmers lose their snakes with the baskets open once the Sgt-Major entered upon the Concert Party’s quarters? 😐

In the end, the cobras end up shot by Colonel Reynolds, Captain Ashwood and the Concert Party. The Sgt-Major must’ve been exhausted from playing the snake-charmer’s flute. Unfortunately, the bullets also ended up in the Sgt-Major’s new uniform, ruining it. He probably didn’t wear the thing. 🙁

‘Has Anyone Seen My Cobra?’ has been a fun episode to check out in ‘It Ain’t Half Hot Mum’. It was funny when people kept telling the Sgt-Major to keep on playing, as he had no choice in the matter. I think the Concert Party must have learnt not to audition for live animals in any future performances.
