‘Doctor Who’ Marathon – ‘Let’s Kill Hitler’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This is the mid-season opener in Series 6 of ‘Doctor Who’. In this episode, the Doctor, Amy and Rory get to meet River Song…before she became River Song. Sounds weird, I know. And despite this episode being called ‘Let’s Kill Hitler’, it barely features him. I found this disappointing when I saw the episode. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ Marathon – ‘A Good Man Goes to War’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We’ve come now to the end of the first half of Series 6. There was a break in-between Part 1 and Part 2 of Series 6. ‘A Good Man Goes to War’ is the mid-season finale and it features the true identity of River Song. Dare I say it, I wasn’t particularly happy with how River Song was revealed in the episode. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ Marathon – ‘The Rebel Flesh’/’The Almost People’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This is the last two-part story in the Matt Smith TV era of ‘Doctor Who’. In this story, the Doctor, Amy and Rory come across the Gangers and an issue of identity crisis occurs. This story is by Matthew Graham who previously wrote ‘Fear Her’ in Series 2. The story closes on a pretty shocking cliff-hanger. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ Marathon – ‘The Doctor’s Wife’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

In this ‘Doctor Who’ episode, Matt Smith’s Doctor meets the TARDIS in person…and she’s a woman called Idris. Yeah! This is the first ‘Doctor Who’ episode to be penned by Neil Gaiman for the TV series. This is a fan-pleasing episode in Series 6 of ‘Doctor Who’ that I’ve got to admit I enjoyed watching on the TV. Continue reading

CD Review – ‘Energy of the Daleks’ (Doctor Who)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here’s another random ‘Doctor Who’ review from my old Amazon review days on my blog. This was a Big Finish audio story recently re-released on vinyl apparently. Today, it’s time for ‘Energy of the Daleks’, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Louise Jameson as Leela. This is a brilliant tale! Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ Marathon – ‘The Curse of the Black Spot’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This is a ‘Doctor Who’ episode about pirates that could’ve easily ended up being ‘Treasure Island’ with aliens. But it’s not, it’s ‘The Curse of the Black Spot’ instead. This episode features Matt Smith’s Doctor, Amy and Rory meeting Hugh Bonneville as pirate Captain Avery whose crew gets attacked by a female siren. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ Marathon – ‘The Impossible Astronaut’/’Day of the Moon’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This is where it begins to go downhill for me in the new series of ‘Doctor Who’. This is the first story of Series 6, starring Matt Smith as the Doctor. It is a two-part story; features the Doctor with Amy, Rory and River Song and it also features the Silence who are monsters that edit themselves out of your memory.

‘Doctor Who’ Marathon – ‘A Christmas Carol’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for the first ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas Special with Matt Smith’s Doctor. This is ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Steven Moffatt. It features special guest stars Michael Gambon and Katherine Jenkins in it. It also has Amy in a police woman’s uniform; Rory in a Roman Centurion’s outfit and a giant shark! 😀

‘Doctor Who’ Marathon – ‘The Pandorica Opens’/’The Big Bang’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s the two-part season finale of Series 5 of ‘Doctor Who’ today! In this story by Steven Moffat, Matt Smith as the Doctor and Karen Gillan as Amy Pond reunite with Alex Kingston as River Song and Arthur Darvill as Rory Williams. They witness the opening of the Pandorica as well as the Big Bang itself in this. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ Marathon – ‘Vincent and the Doctor’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This ‘Doctor Who’ episode features Matt Smith’s Doctor and Amy Pond meeting Vincent Van Gogh. The episode is by Richard Curtis, who previously produced ‘The Curse of Fatal Death’. This episode however is not a comedy and it tackles a sensitive subject regarding Vincent Van Gogh and depression. Continue reading
