Last year, I shared a blog post containing photos of my trip to see the Christmas night trail lights show at Bute Park in Cardiff. My parents and I enjoyed ‘Christmas at Bute Park’ so much that we decided to do it again in 2025. We thoroughly enjoyed the light show. 🙂

We went last Saturday evening (the 13th of December). Originally, we planned to go today (Thursday) in the evening, but we checked the weather forecast and it was predicted it would be raining. We made the right decision in going to the light show last Saturday instead.

Seeing the light show again in 2025 was amazing. Every time we go to ‘Christmas at Bute Park’ in Cardiff, it’s always different. The photos I took included ones of a water fountain, a red post box and a dragon’s tail, which I’m sure weren’t there at Bute Park for Christmas last year.

Beforehand, my parents and I went to the Winter Wonderland on the grounds of Cardiff Castle where we had snacks of a cheeseburger, pizza, coke, coffee and donuts before we went to Bute Park. I’m very pleased we had our food before we did the Bute Park light show.

It astounds me that we did the Bute Park light show within an hour, as it seemed to go by pretty quickly. We must have enjoyed the light show so much that we failed notice the time we spent there. I’m glad I had a marshmallow to heat up by a fire on the night trail that evening.

Below is a gallery containing photos of my parents’ and my experience of enjoying the light show. I’ve also put together a video containing a few highlights of the ‘Christmas at Bute Park’ light show. My two cuddly toy dogs Cuddles and Buggles came along for the ride too. 😀

I don’t know if my parents and I will get to ‘Christmas at Bute Park’ again in December 2026. If we do, I’m sure we’ll enjoy it once more, as the light show in Cardiff is always exciting. This is especially when we go to the Winter Wonderland first before we go seeing the light show.
