BB@10 – Reflection on Easter

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

As well as Christmas, I’ve had opportunities to celebrate Easter on my blog over the years, either in late March and early April or just in April. Easter means a lot to me, especially when celebrating the Easter story, which I’ve been able to share annually on my blog.

As well as sharing the Easter story about Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, I’ve shared a variety of Easter review seasons with specific themes every year. Mostly, they’ve been ‘Doctor Who’-related Easter review seasons, but I made sure there was a variety to them.

My first Easter review season on my blog was in 2016, where I shared my reviews on the ‘Destiny of the Doctor’ audio series produced by Big Finish and AudioGo in 2013 for ‘Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary. It wasn’t planned for me to do that audio series in Easter.

It was part of the ongoing ‘Nyssa Challenge’ marathon that I was doing every Monday from January 2016 to June 2017. ‘Smoke and Mirrors’ was to be shared on Easter Monday in 2016. Thus, I decided to share the rest of my ‘Destiny of the Doctor’ reviews that Easter.

Since then, I’ve shared more Easter review seasons on ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ book series in April 2017, the ‘Soldiers of Love’ audio series by MJTV from March to April 2018, and ‘The Lost Season 23’ audio dramas featuring the Sixth Doctor and Peri in April 2019.

I’ve shared my Easter review seasons on the BBV’s ‘The Stranger’ video series in April 2020, ‘The Darksmith Legacy’ book series in April 2021, ‘The Divergent Universe’ audio dramas in April 2022, and ‘The Nest Cottage Chronicles’ BBC audio series in April 2023.

I shared a ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season for the first time at Easter from March to April 2024 instead of at Christmas from December 2023 to January 2024. For Easter in April this year, I shared my reviews on the ‘Tales From The TARDIS, Volume One’ collection.

Every Easter from 2016 to 2025, I’ve shared Good Friday posts and Happy Easter greetings on Easter Sunday. Mostly, they’ve focused on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I’ve done my best to provide variety when it comes to doing the posts every year.

In 2017, I shared the Easter story in Lego form via a YouTube on Good Friday. In 2018, I shared a photo of Jesus interacting with the DC and Marvel superheroes on Good Friday. In 2019, I shared a blog post about hot cross buns and what their significance is on Good Friday.

From January to April 2019, I shared a per-weekly summary on every chapter in the Gospel of Mark from the Holy Bible. This fitted nicely with my build-up to the Easter celebrations on Easter Sunday in April when I shared my annual Happy Easter greeting for that year. 🙂

Whilst coping with the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, I shared my in-depth review on the 2000 animated film ‘The Miracle Maker’ on Good Friday. In 2021, I shared my review on the 1997 book ‘The Easter Story’, which has some lovely illustrations in it, on Good Friday.

In 2022, I shared my review on the 1977 TV miniseries ‘Jesus of Nazareth’, starring Robert Powell, on Good Friday. In 2023, I shared a video about the Easter story, told by the children of Christ Church in Tunbridge Wells in the UK, on Good Friday, which was lovely.

In 2024, I shared my review on the 2004 film ‘The Passion of the Christ’, directed by Mel Gibson and starring Jim Caviezel, on Good Friday. For Easter Sunday, I shared an Easter video greeting featuring me and Sarah Sutton (Nyssa in ‘Doctor Who’), which I’m pleased about.

This year, I shared a blog post about the significance of fish and chips on Good Friday. It’s been nice to share Easter blog posts these past 10 years. I’ve also reviewed Easter films like ‘Easter Parade’, ‘Hop’‘The Dog Who Saved Easter’ and ‘Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo’.

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim 🙂
