Quick Movie Announcements Thoughts – ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ and ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley.

So, this announcement video was released last week about the upcoming ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ film ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.

Now, I have to tell you, when I saw this announcement video last week, I can’t say I was overly excited by it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure when ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ finally arrives in May 2026, it’ll be worth the wait and it’ll be very exciting to see on the big screen.

But at this stage in time, I’m a little disappointed that the Marvel superhero characters that I was hoping to see in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ don’t seem to be in the current lineup according to the announcement video. I’m sure there’ll be surprises to look forward to. 😐

But I don’t think Spider-Man is going to be in the film. Maybe all three of them, including Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are being saved for ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ in May 2027. Perhaps Deadpool and Wolverine will appear in ‘Secret Wars’ as well.

I’m pleased that Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, James Marsden as Cyclops and Kelsey Grammer as Beast from the original ‘X-Men’ film trilogy are going to be in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. It’s also intriguing the Fantastic Four from the upcoming 2025 film will be in the ‘Doomsday’ film.

I’m currently wondering if the Fantastic Four casts from the 2005-2007 films and the 2015 film will be in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. If so, then I hope they’ll be given good makeovers to make them more impressive than how their actual films turned out and were received. 😀

I don’t know what to make of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom in the upcoming double bill of ‘Avengers’ films. I’m not sure if he’s playing Tony Stark as Dr. Doom or if he’s Victor Von Doom with Tony Stark’s face. No doubt all will be unveiled in future ‘MCU’ movies. 😀

I’m very pleased about the upcoming fourth ‘MCU Spider-Man’ film called ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ with Tom Holland, due to be released in July 2026. And it’s coming shortly after ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. Perhaps that’s why Spidey’s not going to be in ‘Doomsday’. 😐

And it turns out ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’, the follow-up film to ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ is to be released in June 2027, a year after ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ and shortly after ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. I’m surprised it’s coming out rather late.

I thought ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse’ would have come out sooner rather than later now that the SAG-AFTRA strike that happened in 2023 is over. But hey, at least it’s coming to cinemas soon rather than not at all and I’m very sure the film’s release will be worthwhile.

I’ve some convenient Marvel superhero movies coming my way for birthdays in May for the next few years. ‘Thunderbolts*’ will be released in May 2025, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will be released in May 2026 and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ will be released in May 2027. 😀

Very exciting! Incidentally, I’ve been watching the Disney+ series ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ these past seven weeks. I’ve three episodes left to check out. Once I’ve finished, I’ll share a quick review on the series, which I’m so looking forward to.

Anyway, that’s enough from me on upcoming Marvel superhero movies and such. Let’s hope the waiting of these Marvel superhero productions will be worth it.

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim 🙂
