Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It’s Day 21 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2024.
Here’s the twenty-first Christmas recommendation by me on ‘Bradley’s Basement’.

When it comes to talking about the ‘Keeping Up Appearances’ Christmas Specials, there’s one that always springs to mind and focuses solely on Christmas. That’s the first one – ‘The Father Christmas Suit’, the 1991 Christmas Special between Series 2 and 3. 🙂
It might be one of the shortest compared to the 1993 Christmas Special ‘Sea Fever’ and the 1994 Christmas Special ‘Angel Gabriel Blue’, but it’s certainly one that’s set at Christmas time and has far more Christmassy elements compared to the latter specials.
It’s very funny for having Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced ‘bouquet’) who gets her husband Richard to wear a Father Christmas outfit. It’s funnier when Richard as Father Christmas ends up drunk with Emmet when he’s supposed to be disturbing gifts at a church hall. 😀
The Father Christmas outfit gets to be worn by three people in the special. First, it’s Richard, then Elizabeth, the next-door neighbour and Emmet’s sister, and finally it’s worn by Hyacinth who attempts to get her Daddy, dressed in a cat outfit, out of the church hall.
I found it hilarious when Onslow, Hyacinth’s brother-in-law, kissed Hyacinth in the Father Christmas outfit under the mistletoe. Onslow had been kissing Elizabeth in the Father Christmas outfit beforehand. 😀 This is a Christmas Special you don’t want to miss seeing.
