It’s Day 5 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2024.

Here’s the fifth Christmas recommendation by me on ‘Bradley’s Basement’.

If you’re in the mood for a series of Santa Claus films, I turn your attention to ‘The Santa Clause’ film trilogy, starring Tim Allen as Scott Calvin a.k.a. Santa Claus. The films are quite guilty pleasures for me, especially with the worldbuilding and characters in them. 🙂

The first ‘Santa Clause’ film released in 1994 was something I used to enjoy watching as a kid when growing up in the 1990s. It can’t be denied the original ‘Santa Clause’ film is arguably the best of the trilogy, especially with how it introduces Tim Allen as Santa Claus.

I do have soft spots for the next two films, despite their flaws. The second ‘Santa Clause’ film might be the funniest, especially with a robot Santa and a giant robot-like toy soldiers featured. 😀 The third ‘Santa Clause’ film is quite arguably the weakest entry in the trilogy.

This is despite the film having Martin Short playing Jack Frost opposite Tim Allen as Scott Calvin/Santa Claus. Lately, ‘The Santa Clause’ film series has continued in its own TV show on Disney+ called ‘The Santa Clauses’ with Season 1 in 2022 and Season 2 in 2023.

I’ve enjoyed checking out ‘The Santa Clauses’ on Disney+, although the TV show doesn’t feel the same as the film series. Not every character from the films is in the TV show. I’m sure I’ll be revisiting ‘The Santa Clause’ films and ‘The Santa Clauses’ sometime this year.
