It’s Day 4 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2024.

Here’s the fourth Christmas recommendation by me on ‘Bradley’s Basement’.

This is a Christmas episode that I don’t watch very often, but I have fond memories of it when I saw it as a child back in the 1990s. ‘Give or Take a Million’ is the sixth episode of Season 2 of ‘Thunderbirds’ and the final episode of the entire original 1965-66 TV series.

It’s astonishing that ‘Thunderbirds’ ended with a Christmas episode right before the movie ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’ happened. Although that’d probably depend on whether you saw ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’ first at the cinema before viewing ‘Give or Take a Million’ on TV.

My standout memories of the episode are when the young boy Nicky gets to see Thunderbird 3 launched and he’s with Jeff Tracy dressed up as Santa Claus. It’s also to see how the episode ended with the Tracy family, Nicky and Lady Penelope at Christmas.

They’re on Tracy Island and Brains gets to show off his latest invention where it’s snowing, giving everyone a White Christmas. The robbery plot featuring the two criminals isn’t as memorable, though it’s amusing they ended up in a rocket filled with Christmas presents.

This might also be one of the rarest ‘Thunderbirds’ episodes where a rescue mission isn’t required. International Rescue only helps with presents being delivered to a children’s hospital and giving a guest – Nicky – a trip to IR HQ. All in all, this is a very nice episode. 🙂
