It’s Day 3 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2024.

Here’s the third Christmas recommendation by me on ‘Bradley’s Basement’.

Usually, you don’t get that many ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas Specials from the classic TV series. From the new TV series certainly, but you’d have a challenge to search around for any Christmas Specials featuring classic Doctors, unless you pen some yourself like me.

So, it was a treat when in 2019, Big Finish released an audio anthology starring Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor and Nicola Bryant as Peri, and it’s do with Christmas called ‘Blood on Santa’s Claw and Other Stories’. An ideal Christmas gift for a ‘Doctor Who’ fan.

I checked out ‘Blood on Santa’s Claw and Other Stories’ in 2019 before sharing my review on the anthology in 2020. Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant are superb as the Doctor and Peri. It was fascinating to hear them joined by a new companion – Luke Allen-Gale as Joe.

And he happens to be Peri’s boyfriend in the anthology. I was intrigued as to how he got to join the Doctor and Peri in the TARDIS in the first place and how the anthology unravelled the revelation. It’s also superb that Nev Fountain got to write for this anthology.

It’s also nice to have three new writers to the anthology, including Alan Terigo, Susan Dennom and Andrew Lias. I wondered who they were and why they hadn’t contributed to ‘Doctor Who’ before. Check out ‘Blood on Santa’s Claw and Other Stories’ and learn why.
