Day 2 – ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2024

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s Day 2 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2024.

Here’s the second Christmas recommendation by me on ‘Bradley’s Basement’.

At this point, I’ll be revisiting the 2003 film ‘Elf’ on the big screen very soon for a limited cinematic release. This film can also be seen on Blu-ray or a streaming site. Either way, it’s become a family tradition to revisit ‘Elf’, since this is one of our favourite Christmas films.

‘Elf’ is a film that could have easily been forgotten about. Or a film that is considered a standard Christmas film. Thankfully, this is a film that gets repeated on TV now and again for Christmas viewings. This is thanks to director Jon Favreau and his filmmaking team. 🙂

Will Ferrell is also very entertaining as Buddy, a human who’s brought up to be an elf at the North Pole before going to visit New York and reconnect with his real father. There’s plenty of comedic antics featured throughout the film that blends well with lots of charm.

For my Dad, the highlight of this film is to check out and hear the songs and music featured, which can be checked out on the ‘Elf’ film album. There are songs like ‘Pennies from Heaven’, ‘Sleigh Ride’, ‘Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let Is Snow!’, ‘Santa Baby’ and more.

Zooey Deschanel, who plays Jovie in the film, gets to sing ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’ – first as a duet with Will Ferrell and later with Leon Redbone during the film’s end credits. ‘Elf’ is definitely a film worth checking out over Christmas, as it’ll get you into the festive spirit.

Thanks for reading!

Tim 🙂
