Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
I hope everyone is keeping well at this time. I’m currently keeping well, though I did catch Covid in the first half of March. I’m a lot better since then. The vaccines and the booster jab I had have done their job. With that said, it’s still very important to keep safe in the turbulent times we live in. I’m glad things have eased in terms of restrictions in the UK, but I’m still wearing face masks to be on the safe side.
With that said, I’m hoping to enjoy things like conventions, holidays, day trips and cinema visits later in 2022. I’m still hoping to see Sarah Sutton (my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ companion) sometime this year. When that will happen, I don’t know. In the meantime, let me share with you what’s been happening on my blog lately and what will happen in April, including Easter, and the rest of 2022.

First things first, I’ve shared a news announcement about the upcoming ‘Wallace & Gromit’ film if you want to check it out. I’m looking forward to Easter, as I’ll be sharing my review on the ‘Jesus of Nazareth’ miniseries as well as sharing my Easter review season on the ‘Doctor Who’ set of audio stories by Big Finish called ‘The Divergent Universe’ season with Paul McGann, India Fisher and Conrad Westmaas. I’ll also be sharing my latest ‘Strange Love’ discussion on ‘Castrovalva’, which I’ve done with Timelord007, Wolfie and WilliamsFan92.

I’ve recently shared my updated reviews on Season 17 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Tom Baker, based on the Blu-ray box set release as part of ‘The Collection’ range. My reviews are on the stories ‘Destiny of the Daleks’, ‘City of Death’, ‘The Creature From The Pit’, ‘Nightmare of Eden’, ‘The Horns of Nimon’ and ‘Shada’. I’m looking forward to revisiting Season 22 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Colin Baker again when it gets released on Blu-ray sometime soon.

I’ve also shared my epic review on the six-part ‘Doctor Who’ story called ‘Flux’ with Jodie Whittaker, Mandip Gill and John Bishop. This was also Series 13 of ‘Doctor Who’, shown last year on BBC TV. I’m currently looking forward to seeing ‘Legend of the Sea Devils’, the upcoming Easter Special, due to be shown on Easter Sunday in April.
I will soon be sharing my next Short Trip adventure featuring the Fourth Doctor, James Darby and Sarah Jane Smith called ‘The Two Sarah Janes’. This will be the third in a trilogy of Short Trip adventures featuring the Fourth Doctor and James Darby. I’m also currently working on uploading my next Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy adventure called ‘Return to Christmas’, set for release in December this year.

In terms of Big Finish, I have listened to and have reviewed the second and third ‘Dalek Universe’ box sets of ‘Doctor Who’ with David Tennant, Jane Slavin and Joe Sims. I’m currently checking out ‘The Ninth Doctor Adventures’ with Christopher Eccleston and hope to share a review on ‘Ravagers’ soon. I’ve also reviewed the BBC novelization/Big Finish audiobook of ‘Dark Season’ by Russell T. Davies.
I’m currently checking out the ‘Star Trek: Prometheus’ trilogy of ‘Star Trek’ novels by Christian Humberg and Bernd Perplies. The first book is called ‘Fire with Fire’ and I’m enjoying it so far. I’m reading the book as well as hearing the Big Finish audiobook, read by Alec Newman, at the same time. I’ve also made a start on revisiting and reviewing the ‘Star Trek: Voyager’ TV series.

I’ve shared a quick review on the ‘Downton Abbey’ Christmas Special called ‘A Moorland Holiday’. I’m currently halfway through Series 6 of ‘Downton Abbey’ on Blu-ray. I’m looking forward to seeing the series finale and the first ‘Downton Abbey’ movie on Blu-ray as well as the second ‘Downton Abbey’ movie at the cinema. Hopefully I should see ‘Downton Abbey: A New Era’ by May.
I’m currently watching Series 7 of ‘Grantchester’ on Britbox. I’ll be sharing a review on Series 7 once the season is completed. Apparently, there are six episodes in Series 7 as opposed to eight episodes in Series 6. I’m enjoying Series 7 of ‘Grantchester’ so far and it’s nice to see Charlotte Ritchie from ‘Call the Midwife’ in the series. 🙂

The latest movies I’ve seen on Disney+ include ‘The Marine’ with John Cena, ‘Flight of the Phoenix’, ‘The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society’ and ‘The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild’. I’ll be sharing a review on ‘Swallows and Amazons’ soon and I’ll hopefully have a good film to check out on Good Friday this year. I’m currently enjoying Season 3 of ‘The Muppet Show’ on Disney+ by the way.

I’ve also seen movies at the cinema including the 2022 film adaptation of ‘Death on the Nile’, ‘The Batman’ and ‘Uncharted’. I hope to share a review on ‘Morbius’ soon and hopefully see films like ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ and ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’ at the cinema. I hope to see ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ for my birthday in May.

Also on Disney, I’ve seen ‘The Orville’, a sci-fi comedy series that’s almost akin to ‘Star Trek’. I’ve enjoyed the first two seasons and I’m looking forward to when the third season called ‘New Horizons’ becomes available on Disney+. I’m currently three episodes in on ‘The Book of Boba Fett’, the latest live-action ‘Star Wars’ series. I hope to do a quick review on the series and see it in time before the next ‘Star Wars’ show ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ becomes available on Disney+. I also hope to see Series 2 of ‘Alex Rider’, Season 2 of ‘Star Trek: Picard’ and the latest ‘MCU’ show ‘Moon Knight’ sometime.

I’ve been seeing a number of black-and-white films lately. I’ve reviewed films like ‘Pigskin Parade’ with Judy Garland, ‘Gaslight’ with Ingrid Bergman, ‘Seventh Heaven’ with James Stewart, and Alfred Hitchcock‘s ‘Psycho’. I’ve another black-and-white film to share a review on called ‘San Francisco’ with Clark Gable and Jeanette MacDonald. I’ll also be a sharing a review on a sixth black-and-white film soon.
I’ve shared my reviews on Series 1 of ‘It Ain’t Half Hot Mum’. I’ve made a start on Series 2, though it’s slow progress at the moment. Hopefully I’ll be back on track and get to review more ‘It Ain’t Half Hot Mum’ episodes soon. I’ve also done quick reviews on ‘Fireball XL5’ and the 2015 series ‘Partners In Crime’. I also hope to share quick reviews on ‘Captain Scarlett and the Mysterons’ and ‘Hetty Wainthrope Investigates’.
I’m having plenty to do with reviews on films, TV shows and many ‘Doctor Who’ stories to check out. I’m hoping to get my next ‘Doctor Who’ story uploaded to my blog as soon as possible before Christmas comes along. I hope my latest reviews and ‘Doctor Who’ stories will keep you entertained, especially with so much going on in the world, what with Covid-19 and wars happening. I pray that things will get better for those suffering from real-world events. Speaking personally, I’m hoping that another convention or comic con with Sarah Sutton and Peter Davison as guests will happen sooner rather than later to make 2022 a little happier.
In the meantime, please continue to keep safe!
Thanks for reading and many thanks for continuing to support my blog!
Bye for now!
Tim. 🙂

Hi Tim.
I always enjoy reading your news items. I’ve actually thought of doing something like that on my own blog in the middle of this month. I know how you feel with trying to get in track with reviews. I of course have to juggle ‘Doctor Who’ on my blog, as well as ‘Red Dwarf’, ‘Inspector Morse’, ‘Frasier’, and ‘Auf Wiedersehen Pet’. I have to do the ‘Doctor Who’ reviews that I mentioned to you already, as well as ‘Galaxy 4’, ‘Evil of the Daleks’ and ‘Delta and the Bannermen’. Hopefully I’ll be able to squeeze them all in during my Easter break from Uni.
Plus, I’d like to do a report on last year’s Bedford convention. It would be nice to attend another convention with Peter, Sarah and as well as Janet, especially since I didn’t properly meet her at Bedford. I’ll see what happens.
I’m nearly done with series 5 of ‘The Brittas Empire’ and will share my thoughts on the series so far on the page for ‘In the Beginning’.
Take care, WF92.

Hi WF92,
Glad you enjoy my ‘Basement News’ posts. There is quite a lot on my plate at the moment in terms of stories, reviews, views and such. Hopefully I’ll get everything done in time before certain deadlines.
I look forward to your Bedford post when that becomes available. I also look forward to your latest thoughts on ‘The Brittas Empire’.
Many thanks,
Tim 🙂
