Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It’s Day 17 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2018.
I’d like to introduce you to a friend of mine. And he lives in a bag.

This is Scruffy! 😀 You know I feature Cuddles and Puddles, my cuddly toy dogs on my blog sometimes. Well, this is a little gift I had for Christmas back in December 2008. Scruffy is actually a hand puppet and the idea is that he lives inside a blue bag which you pull open to reveal him from it.
My Dad and I used to do puppet sketches for our local church. We were pretty good performing with puppets in those days. Sometimes we would have Scruffy take part in one of the sketches we did. I just love using Scruffy as a puppet since he is cute-looking and you can make look funny in a sketch.
I’ve had a lot of practice with puppets over the years. It’s a very enjoyable thing to do, but it is pretty challenging. You’d think it is easy holding a puppet up in the air against a screen and reading from a script. But it’s not, as I found it challenging keeping my arm in the air with one puppet for a long time.
Puppetry is a thing to master. I’m not claiming to be a professional expert, but as I’ve had practice over the years I’ve come to learn what the joys and challenges there are in doing it. I enjoyed doing puppet sketches with my Dad and we would receive ovation from our audiences who enjoyed them.
I’m thankful for my drama schools and camps back when I was a kid to help me with being able to act and perform, especially with puppets. I sometimes like to think of myself as an actor, especially in writing scripts. But enough of that! I am sure you can agree with me, Scruffy the dog looks cute. 😀
Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!
