Hello everyone! 🙂
It’s Day 15 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2015.
Don’t panic! It’s time to talk about another one of my favourite BBC TV sitcoms from the 1970s. If you know what’s good for you, don’t open this post and continue reading it or you’ll be sorry!

You opened it! You stupid boy! Yes! It’s ‘Dad Army’, one of the best BBC sitcoms made about the wartime spirit and featuring the Home Guard. I love watching this series and seeing the characters from Mannering, Wilson, Jonesy, Frazer, Walker, Godfrey to Pike. You really don’t want to miss this!
I love re-watching the episodes on DVD when I’m in need of some relaxation. It’s good to watch ‘Dad’s Army’ at Christmas as I enjoy watching the specials. I also enjoy listening to the radio episodes of ‘Dad’s Army’ too.
Sometimes when I go to ‘Doctor Who’ conventions far from home in the UK, I enjoy watching ‘Dad’s Army’ episodes via BBC iPlayer on my tablet before I go to bed. This helps me to relax the day before I go to a convention and also after I’ve had a meal at a hotel and had a walk outside in the evening.
My favourite ‘Dad’s Army’ character is Corporal Jones. I’ve had a signed photograph of Corporal Jones signed by Clive Dunn in 2012, which I’m very pleased about. My favourite ‘Dad’s Army’ episodes include ‘The Deadly Attachment’, ‘The Two and a Half Feathers’ and ‘Asleep in the Deep’.
I love ‘Dad’s Army’! I hope to see the BBC docudrama about ‘Dad’s Army’ on BBC Two on Tuesday 22nd December called ‘We’re Doomed! The Dad’s Army Story’. I’m also looking forward to seeing the new ‘Dad’s Army’ movie, starring Toby Jones that will be released at the cinemas in February 2016.
Thanks for reading.
Bye for now.
Tim. 🙂
