‘THE WINGED THNG’
Please feel free to comment on my review.

Season 3 of the original 1960s ‘Spider-Man’ TV series begins here! And we’ve gone back to compilations of two stories in one episode as before with Season 1. But hey, this might be an improvement over the quality of stories featured in Season 2. Well, I wouldn’t be so sure about that.
In ‘The Winged Thing’, a new story involving the Vulture has him warning people to stay off the streets of New York whilst Spider-Man deals with him. Except that in this ‘new story’, it uses footage from two previous episodes of Season 1 featuring the Vulture. Wow! That’s really lazy in my opinion!
The two previous episodes in question happen to be ‘The Vulture’s Prey’ and ‘The Sky Is Falling’. Yeah, this is where the 1960s ‘Spider-Man’ series was really struggling for ideas in terms of storytelling and animation. Heck, I wasn’t paying much attention when watching the episode itself. 😦
The animation also feels grainy and inconsistent compared to the Season 1 episodes as it combines both murky Season 2 animation with bright and colourful Season 1 animation. I imagine these Season 3 episodes are the latest after Seasons 2 and 1 since Jameson and Betty Brant star in them. 🙂
‘The Winged Thing’ rating – 4/10
