Welcome to ‘The Forest of Magicians’ of the ‘Zorbius’ series by Tim Bradley!

It’s amazing what you don’t remember after you’ve written a story in October 2013. Over the years, I’ve written quite a number of Tenth Doctor/Donna stories on my blog including ‘The Vexo Knights Experience’ and ‘The Five Doctors at Christmas’ as well as ‘The Popiz’ for the Divergent Wordsmiths.

I’d forgotten what I’d written in my ‘Forest of Magicians’ story which featured the Tenth Doctor and Donna to celebrate the Tenth Doctor era in ‘Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary. Yet I wrote it and it was the first time I’d ever written for the Tenth Doctor and Donna. I enjoyed revisiting this adventure. 😀

It was amazing to discover how much was going on in ‘The Forest of Magicians’. What with the Tenth Doctor and Donna visiting the planet Migra-Minor; helping to save a girl called Tari who was being hunted in a forest and featuring some villains in the form of magicians and troll-like monsters.

I didn’t know how one of the supporting characters was going to turn out in revisiting this story for my blog as he started as a good buy before becoming a bad guy. I hoped he might return to being a good guy at the end, but sadly that didn’t happen. Hopefully the tension and drama should be there for you to enjoy his character. 🙂

It was also good to feature the Parntroltans in this adventure, after introducing them in ‘The End Dilemma’. Here, the Parntroltans are angry with the Doctor about something and they want revenge. I believe the answer to the Parntroltans’ bitterness is in the next story ‘The Horror of Time’.

You’ll have to find that out. Most importantly, this story was a great opportunity to write for the Tenth Doctor and Donna, two of my favourite TARDIS characters in ‘Doctor Who’ from the new series. Series 4 remains a positive highlight for me as a ‘Doctor Who’ fan when I saw it on TV in 2008.

The fun-filled atmosphere and the energy should be there with the Tenth Doctor and Donna in this adventure set during Series 4 of new ‘Doctor Who’. I’m sure you’ll be able to hear David Tennant and Catherine Tate’s voice when reading this story as I was able to hear them when writing this story. 😀

I’m currently looking forward to what happens next in ‘The Horror of Time’. I know there are two more stories to write after that, but this is where you can argue that the end of the ‘Zorbius’ series begins. I hope you’ll enjoy ‘The Forest of Magicians’. How will the Doctor and Donna tackle the Zorbius crystal?
