Here’s who’s who in ‘The Horror of Time’.

THE ELEVENTH DOCTOR (Matt Smith)

Born ‘still cooking’ in ‘The Eleventh Hour’ and in a crashing TARDIS, the Eleventh Doctor hurtled into the life of Amy Pond and the mystery of the crack in her wall. Pursuing the time-erasing cracks, the Doctor and Amy battled new paradigm Daleks in World War II, Weeping Angels by the thousand and the depression in Vincent van Gogh’s mind. After learning the cracks were caused by the TARDIS exploding, the Doctor sacrificed himself to reboot the universe, only to be remembered back into existence by Amy. After calling his companions to Lake Silencio, Utah on the 22nd of April 2011, a future version of the Doctor was seen to die at the hands of ‘The Impossible Astronaut’. When it transpired that the astronaut was River Song being controlled by the Silence, the Doctor allowed the fixed moment in time to happen by substituting himself with the shape-shifting ship, the Teselecta. The Doctor was able to slip out of view, infiltrating the Dalek Asylum and discovering dinosaurs on a spaceship. After losing Amy and Rory, he met his new companion Clara Oswald. Soon, the prophesied fall of the Eleventh happened in ‘The Time of the Doctor’.

CLARA OSWALD (Jenna Coleman)

The impossible girl! The Eleventh Doctor met Clara three times. First as Oswin Oswald in ‘Asylum of the Daleks’, then as Clara Oswin Oswald in ‘The Snowmen’. The Doctor bumped into the real Clara Oswald in ‘The Bells of Saint John’, determined to solve the mystery of the impossible girl whilst still having adventures with her as his new companion in the TARDIS. The mystery was solved in ‘The Name of the Doctor’ when she sacrificed herself by entering the Doctor’s timestream to undo the harm caused by the Great Intelligence. After helping to save Gallifrey in ‘The Day of the Doctor’, Clara soon saw the Eleventh Doctor regenerate into the Twelfth Doctor in ‘The Time of the Doctor’. Clara spent some time travelling with the Twelfth Doctor, having adventures outside and inside Coal Hill School where she worked as an English teacher. There, she fell in love with Danny Pink whom she lost to the Cybermen, led by the evil Missy. Very soon, Clara bravely faced her death in ‘Face the Raven’ before she was extracted from her last moments of life in ‘Hell Bent’. She’s currently travelling in a TARDIS stolen from Gallifrey with Ashildr.
