‘PEACE, LOVE AND WOE’ (MMPR)
Please feel free to comment on my review.

This is an episode where Billy meets a girl who he goes out on a date with. I like this episode. It sees Billy in a romantic situation, even if it’s geeky at times. Alexandra Wilson as the girl called Marge is instantly attracted to him, just as Billy is attracted to her. Sadly, Rita Repulsa causes trouble when sending in Madam Woe.
The way Billy and Marge talk to each other matches the demeanour that Billy has in his character. I like how it’s not overstated, and it seems to be a sweet relationship between the two. Billy’s friends, Jason, Zack, Trini and Kimberly observe nearby and approve, encouraging him to ask her to the dance.
However, Marge is the one who asks Billy out to the dance. Is she being forward? 😀 Anyway, Billy agrees and suggests they have a date at the park first before going to the dance, to which Marge agrees. I like the connection made between Billy and Marge regarding the necklace that she wears. 🙂
Meanwhile, Rita Repulsa summons Madam Woe, an elemental monster that brings woe to whoever she touches. Woe can transport people to other dimensions. She captures Marge, mistaking her for a Power Ranger, since she was due to meet Billy at the park. Woe traps Marge in another dimension.
Billy finds Marge’s necklace and suspects that she’s been captured. He and the other Rangers get confirmation of this from Zordon. The Rangers are told that the only way to defeat Madam Woe is by removing the crystal from her head and that one Power Ranger must fight Woe in the real world.
The Rangers soon get sent into the dimension by Woe where Marge is trapped. They combine their Power Coins and Billy is teleported back to the real world since he volunteered to fight Madame Woe on his own. I was expecting Billy to have the power of all five Power Coins to fight Madam Woe.
I like how the episode ends with the Rangers defeating Woe, and without the Dino Megazord. Billy and Marge thankfully meet for the dance. The romantic set-up between Billy and Marge is sweet. I would like to see more of them together – Oh wait! Marge doesn’t appear again in ‘Power Rangers’! 😦
I get the feeling that Marge was meant to be set up as a recurring character, especially as she talked about admiring the Blue Ranger when mentioning him to Billy. It’s sad that Marge didn’t return for future episodes. Then again, I wonder if Marge ever guessed that Billy was the Blue Ranger all along.
‘Peace, Love and Woe’ (MMPR) rating – 8/10

sweet episode for billy’s character progression but man, the actress who plays marge simply cannot act. even though she’s dorky like billy, her acting skills are shocking i’m kinda glad she didn’t come back lol (same with jason’s cousin, jeremy).

Hi Peter,
I’m pleased you found ‘Peace, Love and Woe’ a sweet episode for Billy’s character. I didn’t mind Alexandra Wilson’s acting as Marge in the episode. I found her fine. Apparently, she later played Ms. Kegel in the 1998 film ‘Small Soldiers’. First time I’ve discovered that fact. 😀 I agree, the acting from the boy who played Jeremy, Jason’s cousin, in ‘The Rockstar’ didn’t win me over. He was also voiced over by Brianne Siddal in the episode.
Tim 🙂
